Maxwell Hiller’s latest film shows Florida landed a future SEC bully

Florida might have some question marks along the offensive line heading into 2026, but part of the long-term hope is the cache of talent that is coming down the pipeline via recruiting. Headlining Florida’s class of 2027 is five-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller, who has been committed to Florida since April. 

On Friday night, he was on full display and showcased all the traits we have been hyping up ever since he first showed up on Florida’s radar.

Florida commit Maxwell Hiller showcases his mean streak

Tom Loy of 247Sports took a trip to watch Hiller in person on Friday night. Loy commented, “Friday night was my first in-person exposure. I couldn't have been more impressed. The effort, energy, technique, strength, power, and ability to finish on every play is all there. ELITE.”

The two-minute accompanying video shows just how effortless Hiller makes it look. One of the things we always comment on is that if you are a genuine five-star prospect, it should be obvious to everyone in the stadium that you are a five-star within five snaps of you taking the field. And in Hiller’s case, he is looking to bulldoze someone on every play, but it never looks like he is having to try too hard to pancake an opposing player. 

He has the type of playstyle that makes opponents want to quit playing football because he makes sure the night isn’t fun for them.

And what Loy saw on Friday night is in line with what we said when we first profiled Hiller. Back in December, when the Gators first offered Hiller, we said:

“If you want the definition of what the tape for a five-star prospect looks like compared to a three-star, just go watch Hiller’s film. He is the type of player who would make you want to quit football if you were matched up against him on a Friday night. His natural power is evident, and there are moments where he won’t just pancake one dude, he’ll find a way to pancake two dudes at once.

He has the versatility that makes many think he could play either guard or tackle in college and beyond. Listed at 6’5” and 300 pounds already, he is going to walk onto a college campus with built-in Power Four size.”

Hiller has been the target of a couple of other programs even after his commitment, but he hasn’t given much of a reason to believe that he is going to flip prior to signing day in December. He headlines a class for Florida that currently has 25 commits and is ranked 8th in the 247 Composite.
