The Florida Gators are looking for a bounce back and the South Carolina Gamecocks are standing in the way. Jon Sumrall's need for answers from his team may be the thing that puts the nail in the coffin for Shane Beamer, but the South Carolina coach shouldn't take it personally, it's just business.
Sumrall promised a tough week for the Gators after a 45-17 loss at Missouri. He will be searching for accountability from his team and more effort after they put a terrible performance on film against the Tigers — losing in all three facets of the game.
South Carolina is also in desperation mode. The Gamecocks have lost three straight and the next loss could be the last one for Beamer. The early spread from FanDuel has the Gators as a 14.5-point favorite at home.

Florida's maturity will be put to the test against South Carolina
Even though it didn't seem like it in Week 5, the Gators still have a lot to play for this season and the Missouri disaster could be a sign of things to come or a simple bump in the road against a team that has historically had a ton of success against Florida.
It feels like we're going to find out a lot in Week 6. Can Aaron Philo win a game with his arm? How will the Gators offensive line recover from being whipped by a Missouri front that was missing two key players? Will Brad White fix the leaks that have appeared in the Gators secondary?
Sometimes you can chalk up a bad loss as a bad loss, but the Missouri game saw all the concerns that fans had in the offseason come up to the surface at once. As much as we'd like to believe that Sumrall can fix this quickly, and we'll see a Gators team that has a sense of urgency and anger, we just don't know if that's going to be the case. The oddsmakers, however, are banking on it.
And there are also a lot of unknowns about the mindset of the Gamecocks. They are fighting for Beamer's job, but how much fight do they have left? There's plenty of talent on the South Carolina roster, but the drive is lacking. It's a battle that Beamer has been fighting all season and one he has yet to figure out.
Sumrall can figure out a lot about his team in Week 6 and if he pushes the right buttons, we'll see the likely end of the Beamer era in Columbia and enjoy renewed optimism in Gainesville with games against Texas and Georgia on deck.
