2025 has arrived and there are some narratives surrounding Florida Football that will need to be cleared up as the offseason gets underway.

The following are three key storylines to track and keep an eye on.

What's Florida's plan in the transfer portal?

Florida made a big deal about how "aggressive" they were going to be in the transfer portal and how the money they saved from not buying out Billy Napier was going to be used to land talent from around the country.

Even if one is sold on wide receiver commit J.Michael Sturdivant being able to achieve the potential he has flashed on film, the approach the Gators have taken has been far from "aggressive" to this point.

Florida has landed four players out of the portal. Only Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee, the three playoff teams from the SEC, have landed less within the conference.

It's the same approach Florida took last year, and the Gators did have a late surge of players last year make their way to Gainesville, so we'll see if anyone else is going to commit as inevitably there will be late additions to the portal.

How will Billy Napier fill his staff?

With the departure of Austin Armstrong to Houston, Florida has at least one staff vacancy, which it will need to fill. Will Napier go and get another defensive coach to fill the position, or will he finally go out and hire himself an OC?

It should also be noted that Cam Parker of SI pointed out last week that Mike Peterson, Rob Sale, Jabbar Juluke, Tyler Miles, and Billy Gonzales all have contracts that expire on January 31. Whether or not all will get renewed is also a plot point worth watching.

Will Florida get a better jump on the class of 2026?

Florida was dead in the water with its class of 2025 before a late surge brought the Gators to 10th in the country, but 7th in the SEC.

Already headlining the class of 2026 is QB Will Griffin out of Tampa. Combined with perceived momentum, can Florida land some early fish and get into the top five overall for this upcoming class?
