One of the cool opportunities the current version of the college football playoffs provides the Florida Gators, and everyone else in the country for that matter, is the opportunity to host a playoff game on campus. Neutral site games serve their purpose, but they don't capture the same vibe as an on-campus game.
National personality Josh Pate not only has the Gators making the playoffs in 2025, but he has them hosting a first-round game at The Swamp. And it is who he has coming to The Swamp in his predictions that could litteraly set Gainesville ablaze this December.
Could Florida host Georgia in the playoffs?
In Pate's predictions, he has the Gators as the No. 8 seed in the bracket, which would be the final hosting spot for the first round.
In his bracket, he has none other than the Georgia Bulldogs coming to town.

If you thought the World's Largest Cocktail Party got spicy, could you imagine the level of toxicity of a playoff game in Gainesville between Florida and Georgia?
The Gainesville PD would have their work cut out for them if this matchup happened.
The Bulldogs haven't played in The Swamp since 1994, when Jacksonville's stadium was undergoing renovations. Even though renovations are set to get underway soon, the annual game between Florida and Georgia is going to be split between Atlanta and Tampa.
As Pate points out in a later comment:
"I will force UGA vs Florida to happen on campus if it's the last thing I do."
The site of the annual matchup has become a bit of a sore spot in recent years. Georgia coach Kirby Smart has been adamant that he wants the series moved to home campuses every year, while Billy Napier has stayed mostly neutral on the topic.
While the series started in Jacksonville for practical reasons, it has stayed in the city due to money (what else is new).
What's also notable about Pate's prediction, even if you take Georgia out of the equation, is that he is essentially predicting a 10-2 season for the Gators and that Florida would finish 3rd in the SEC.
That is the highest any national personality has projected for Florida and would be much higher than what Florida is predicted to do in the polls.
