In just a few days, four-star wide receiver and in-state prospect Elias Pearl will take a trip to Gainesville to spend yet another weekend with the Florida Gators and head coach Jon Sumrall.

Ahead of his trip, On3's Vice President of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong logged an expert prediction that the Gators would land Pearl's commitment, skyrocketing Florida's odds of doing so to nearly 96 percent, followed by the Ole Miss Rebels with just 2.9 percent.

Now, virtually all that Sumrall and his staff have to do is seal the deal, cementing Pearl's future with the Gators over this weekend's visit.

Elias Pearl trending toward the Florida Gators

Of course, Pearl has just one official visit scheduled so far, and that's to see the Ole Miss Rebels in June of this summer. However, this trip to Gainesville will be his second time visiting the Gators, making them the only team to host him twice, so far.

Pearl is from Port Charlotte, just a three-hour drive from the Gators' home in Gainesville, and it became quickly apparent that he was favoring Florida over a slew of other programs that had extended him an offer.

Keep in mind, Sumrall and the Gators only offered Pearl a few weeks ago, on Feb. 16, so it didn't take long for Florida to surge to the front of the charge for the young wide receiver's commitment.

As the No. 18 wideout in the class of 2027 and the No. 12 overall prospect out of Florida, he would be a massive addition to the Gators' upcoming recruiting class, especially since he would be passing up on offers from Ole Miss, Georgia, and many other Power Conference teams.

Pearl had previously shared that he grew up a big fan of the Gators, which makes sense with his hometown only being a few hours away. Nonetheless, Sumrall will undeniably have to prove his worth this weekend as the new leader in town.
