Continuing their pursuit of the highest caliber players, Jon Sumrall and the Gators have officially made an offer to Rashaad Silver, a three-star wide receiver and safety out of Columbia High School in Decatur, Georgia.

That high school name may look familiar to Florida fans, and that’s because it’s the same one that Florida’s leading running back, Jadan Baugh, graduated from just two years ago. He and Silver were teammates at Columbia. Silver also serves as a kick returner for Columbia, just as Baugh has for Florida as well, adding to what the two kids from Georgia have in common.

Jadan Baugh's high school teammate Rashaad Silver offered by the Gators

Silver was at the University of Florida for a 7v7 camp on Wednesday and posted a picture of himself and Baugh together in the practice facility. Just prior to that is when he announced that he had received an offer from the Gators. With Baugh on the Gators, he could help persuade Silver to become a Gator, and he would also be a familiar face on the field, helping to make the transition from high school to college easier as well.

When you look at the tapes, Silver has many similarities to Baugh as well in terms of speed, his ability to quickly change directions, and break away from defenders on offense. He has stellar footwork and a great ability to stay in bounds while hugging the sideline on runs down the field.

Defensively, he is quick and has great hands for interrupting throws and is quick to make a tackle and prevent opposing offenses from doing much.

He’s an all-around great player who, reuniting with Baugh, could make a dangerous duo on the field together for the Gators.

The 2027 prospect has played the entirety of his career on Varsity at Columbia High School. Over the course of those three seasons he has 186 total rushing yards, 426 pass yards, 588 receiving, and 1200 total yards, averaging 60 yards per game. He has scored 10 touchdowns over the course of his career.

Just this last season alone, the junior from Georgia had 256 receiving yards on 13 receptions, averaging 19.7 yards per carry and 32 yards per game. He had three receiving touchdowns this year.

Currently, Silver has offers from 35 schools, including Arkansas, Georgia, Michigan State, Kansas, and others. He has official visits scheduled with Georgia, Arkansas, and Kansas. It wouldn’t be surprising if an official visit to Florida is scheduled next.
