Jack Pyburn managed to make Florida's loss to LSU even worse

Seeing a familiar face on the other side definitely makes the loss sting a bit more.

Before the season starter, former Florida EDGE rusher Jack Pyburn threw some shade at the Gators, talking about how he never felt at home in Gainesville or with the team. Now with LSU, Pyburn said he has felt welcomed from the very beginning.

Pyburn also felt the Gators never gave him the best shot to showcase who he is as a player on the field. Well, when Florida took the trip to Baton Rouge this past weekend, the Gators had the opportunity to show up Pyburn and make him regret his comments, but instead, the former Gator got the last laugh in the end.

Pyburn has turned his transfer to LSU into a very positive move as he has really made a name for himself on LSU's defense. Against the Gators, Pyburn has five tackles, four quarterback pressures, half a tackle for a loss, and one run stop. Pyburn played a big part in getting pressure on Florida quarterback DJ Lagway, who threw five interceptions against the Tigers.

This is a guy that the Gators let walk out of the building. A guy who could be helping this team instead of playing against them and handing them a pretty tough loss. At LSU, Pyburn has shown that Florida certainly didn't use him in the best way possible.

Allowing Pyburn to get pressure on the quarterback instead of dropping him back into coverage was the better move, and LSU figured that out in a couple of months, whereas Florida couldn't figure it out for three seasons.

"This was the best decision I ever made," Pyburn said after LSU's win over the Gators.

Florida really let a good one go with this one, both with Pyburn and the game against LSU. This is just another reason the Gators need to make the head coaching change because keeping good guys in the building and using them effectively shouldn't be this hard, but for head coach Billy Napier, it is.
