It wasn't easy and there were a lot of nervous people out there, but the Florida Gators are headed to the Sweet Sixteen. On Sunday, Todd Golden and Co. indeed were in a close battle with UConn, but in the end, Walter Clayton Jr. and others stepped up to send the Huskies home.

Right after the final whistle, Dan Hurley blasted the refs in NSFW fashion. Talk about being a sore loser, right? Gators fans didn't mind seeing Hurley's meltdown, as plenty of people outside of Connecticut have no issues at all rooting against him. Matter of fact, people are letting him have it on social media now that it has been confirmed he won't be posting a three-peat.

Florida taking down UConn and ending Dan Hurley's season made a lot of fans happy

Hurley, who once turned down the Lakers, is no stranger to ticking people off, as his behavior sometimes is a bit over the top. Because of this, plenty of hoops fans understandably were pretty darn happy to see his season end in the way that it did. UConn kept things quite close and were in a spot for an upset, but Florida reminded everyone of why it's one of the best teams in the country.

Florida fans are riding high right now, but it's about more than just ruining Hurley's day. For a little while there, it sure looked like the Huskies were going to pull off a stunner. However, Clayton was unreal shooting the ball, making sure the national title hopes stayed alive for his team.

In this one, the sharpshooter finished with a game-high 23 points, of course including some huge triples. Alijah Martin added 18 points, while Will Richard pitched in with 15. Next up for Florida is a Sweet Sixteen matchup against either Maryland or Colorado State. Hurley and his players will have to watch the rest of the tourney from home.
