One of the massive concerns Gator fans have, and quite frankly Jon Sumrall has, is with Florida’s offensive line. That is nothing new, as Sumrall called out the group at length during the spring and didn’t have a great showing in the actual spring game.
But one hope is that transfer Harrison Moore can serve as an anchor for the unit and stabilize it, and Moore just earned a watchlist honor that should also put him on the radar for Gator fans as a whole entering 2026.
Florida may have found an anchor for its biggest offensive concern
Moore was named to the 2026 Rimington Trophy preseason watch list, which is eventually awarded to the top center in the country. Maurkice Pouncey is the only Gator to win the award, as he received that honor in 2009.
Moore is going to be an interesting case study for Florida, as he has been penciled in as the 2026 center even though he didn’t play much of it while at Georgia Tech. He played 682 snaps in 2025, but bounced between guard and center throughout the year. According to Pro Football Focus, he gave up 15 pressures but did not allow a sack in 2025.

Fall-camp question: Can he organize an unsettled unit while replacing the consistency and leadership Jake Slaughter provided?
Buster Faulker has had nothing but great things to say about Moore and earlier this week highlighted his role along the offensive line:
“It was fortunate that it worked out for the Gators. Harrison Moore is one of the toughest guys I’ve ever had a chance to coach. The last two years, he played a lot for us as a freshman. I think he’s now getting comfortable in his own skin.
When we first signed him, he was 265 pounds, so he’s still putting on weight. He’s much stronger than he was. He’s starting to become a leader, a lot more vocal, and that’s very important for what we ask the center to do in this offense.”
And it’s that last part about being the vocal leader that is one of the hidden things about the position that we as fans can’t really measure. Given that Moore is filling the shoes of All-American Jake Slaughter, it would be easy for him to be meek and timid.
If Moore can continue to step up as a leader and can live up to his preseason watchlist billing, Florida’s offensive line might just have a chance to hold firm just enough for the 2026 campaign.
