If you can't kick your rival when they are down, then when can you kick them? As Florida Gator fans prepare for the gauntlet of the 2025 season, most Florida fans have paid minimal attention or worry to FSU.

The Seminoles went from getting left out of the playoffs in 2023 to a 2-10 season in 2024. No one could have seen it coming (well, except for the warning signs that were present after getting beat down by Georgia).

But Florida's Neighbors to the West have a plan to climb back up the ranks of college football.

The problem for FSU is that their plan A is crashing and burning before taking their first official snap.

Tommy Castellanos is struggling at FSU camp

After the failure that was DJU in Tallahassee, the Seminoles took a look at one of the QBs that beat them in 2024 and said, "That's our guy in 2025."

Mike Norvell and company went out and grabbed Tommy Castellanos from Boston College, and based on reports coming out of FSU camp, there is some buyer's remorse going on in Tallahassee.

On the CBS Sports show College Football Insiders, they shared a nugget that the Castellanos experiment isn't going well:

"I was told during the first week of practice, going through their first scrimmage, that he's been incredibly inconsistent."

Mind you, this is on top of Castellanos expressing remorse this week for bailing on Boston College early last year after getting benched during the season:

"If I had to do it again, I would stay. And I would just go through the storm with them."

It did seem weird and possibly desperate that Norvell went out and targeted the guy who got benched at 7-6 Boston College, but Gator fans aren't going to mind.

If you are keeping score at home, Mike Norvell went 29-9 with Jordan Travis as his QB. He is 4-18 during his time at FSU when someone besides Travis has been his QB.

Even Billy Napier has been able to piece some wins together without DJ Lagway under center.

So, despite what Castellanos may say about not being afraid of Alabama, Gator fans will be watching closely when he gets a dose of reality in a couple of weeks.
