Kaiden Prothro is a 6'6" tight end out of Georgia. Listed at 220 pounds, ESPN currently ranks him as a five-star prospect, while the other three services rate him as a highly regarded four-star player.

Prothro is set to take his official visit with the Florida Gators this weekend, and if Billy Napier and crew can find a way to keep him in Gainsville, it would flip the script on Florida's recruiting and strap a rocket ship to the class of 2026.

Kaiden Prothro would be a massive addition for the Florida Gators

We previously looked at Prothro back in February when he put the Gators in his top five. We noted at the time that given Napier's insistence on running two tight end sets, he has yet to land the premier players at the position to justify using two tight ends as much as he does.

When we reviewed his film, we said:

"Even though he is being recruited as a tight end, his film has him lined up almost exclusively on the outside. As a pure receiver, his catch radius is massive, and even though he is 6'6" and 210 pounds, he can still run a go route downfield and take the top off the defense. He has such a long stride that looks effortless.

We're not saying he is the next Kyle Pitts just yet, but there is a ton to like that could make him a matchup nightmare in the SEC." a

Landing Prothro is going to be a battle, and insiders seem to think it could still be anyone's game. Prothro has taken official visits to Georgia, Alabama, and Auburn, and after this weekend's visit with Florida, he will take a visit to Texas.

The On3 RPM model has Auburn as a slight favorite, but those percentages are prone to shift at any moment.

It's not an accident that QB commit Will Griffin is also in town this weekend. If Griffin can connect with Prothro, Florida might just have a shot to land the coveted tight end.
