One of the main reasons for Florida's turnaround in 2024 was the resurgence of the defensive line over the final four games. The Gators started living in the backfield of the opposition, and it covered up for some extended stretches when the offense wasn't fully clicking.

Hoping to keep the pipeline of talented EDGE rushers going, the Gators have their sights on an Auburn commit they are hoping to flip this weekend.

Auburn commit Hezekiah Harris to visit the Gators this weekend

Hezekiah Harris is an EDGE out of Alabama. Listed at 6'5" and 230 pounds, he is a consensus four-star, with Rivals having him the highest at 97 and On3 having him the lowest at 149.

On film, there is no mistaking the productivity that Harris has on the field. He is a menace in the backfield who can go inside or outside and who has the motor to fight through double teams to still stop a play.

Harris also has a solid read of the game and does well to keep the edge and make plays even when the initial play isn't right at him.

He will need to touch more size to make it in the SEC, and his first step burst could be a touch quicker, but there is merit to why the Gators are going after Harris.

He just took his official visit to Auburn, where he has been verbally committed for almost a year now. This upcoming weekend, he is slated to take his official visit to Florida, and according to his 247 profile, he has one other visit planned to Tennessee.

The odds of Florida actually flipping Harris seem low, as he has taken two recent visits to Tennessee, and he keeps claiming he is firm with Auburn.

But if the Gators have a big weekend with Harris, anything is possible in modern-day recruiting.
