For the second day in a row, the Florida Gators have locked down a four-star prospect for the class of 2026. Hayes Fawcett recruiting reported on Saturday that Heze Kent, a 6'6, 310 ATH from Brunswick Georgia committed to the University of Florida and social media began buzzing once again as Billy Napier and the Gators were on a two-day commitment roll.

When reading the posts on X, looking at the videos, and just taking in the excitment, this might have been the signing of the year for the Gators so far. The comments can't do anything else BUT excite Gators fans for the tank they just locked down in the Swamp.

Kent is known for his elite versatility and explosive athleticism. He is expected to immediately be able to fit into Napier's scheme and help the Gators explode on the field for positive yardage and scores.

Nick marcinko of Gator Country had the commitment video.

The Florida Gators commented talking about how Kent is an absolute "ATHLETE!" They noted he had "983 receiving yards, 211 rushing yards, eight receiving tuchdowns, and eight rushing touchdowns in 2024 and averaged 17 and 14 in basketball.

"Kent is 6'7", 282lbs and he can do all this at THAT SIZE?" Said the Florida Gators. "WE GOT A DEMON," they exclaimed at his ability at 6'7", 282lbs to be able to go for 983 receiving yards, 211 rushing yards, eight receiving touchdowns, and eight rushing touchdowns. It's definitely "great to be a Florida Gator" right now.

Steve Wiltfong, Vice President of Rivals/ ON3 called Kent "one of the Nation's most talented 2026 prospects" and a "jumbo athlete." He noted how the Gators are on pace to become a third-straight top-10 class if they keep getting recruits.

Hayes Fawcett shared Kent's stats from last season with a highlight video that shows how big and versatile of an athlete he is. They said one word describes Florida's newest ATH who will likely serve as a tight end for Napier. That word - "MONSTER!"

Coach Napier himself responded to Kent's commitment with the sunglasses emoji in excitement of having secured another piece of his 2026 attack plan.

With this recruitment coming a day after Florida secured KJ Ford, fans were taking "Gator boys stay hot," and rephrasing it to "Coach stay hot" as Florida recruiting was on a true hot streak that continued to steal top players from big schools, including Florida State and their arch-nemesis Georgia Bulldogs.

Prior to committing to Florida, Kent had offers from FSU, Texas, Miami, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, UGA, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, and other big name schools as well making him a very big pickup for the Gators. There were talks that Alabama at one point was becoming a front runner to secure Kent, but within the last week prior to his commitment, Florida became the favorite and ultimately the program that landed the tank from Georgia.

Jerry Jr. of Inside_Swamp called Kent "one of the most coachable, charismatic, and God fearing young men you'll ever meet." He noted that Kent is likely to become a fan favorite.

Billy Tucker of the UCReport talked about how Kent, also known as "superman" is the No. 185 overall prospect in the ESPN 300 and is the 12th ESPN 300 commit this season.

Dylan Olive of Sports Illustrated shared one of Kent's highlight videos and noted many of his stats as well, which included being a top 150 composite recruit, the 9th ATH, having 1,194 total yards and 16 touchdowns as a junior. He noted Kent could end up at tight end or offensive line for Napier.

With the commitment of Kent, the Gators now sit with the No. 14 ranked class in the country for the class of 2026. They have 18 commitments, including two four-star prospects in the last 24 hours.
