Gator (MLB) Boys stayed hot on Sunday as Jac Caglianone and Jonathan India both had multi-hit days in the Kansas City Royals’ 7-5 win over the Chicago White Sox.

Caglianone joined elite company with his performance, collecting four hits in just his sixth career major league game. The only other Royal able to do that was Hall-of-Famer Bo Jackson on September 11, 1986. Caglianone hit three singles and a double, raising his batting average from .095 to .240.

His fourth-inning double was 113.6 mph off the bat. His three singles were also lasers, off the bat at 90.8 mph, 101.3 mph, and 103.8 mph respectively. According to , he also ranks first in bat speed since tracking started, averaging 77.3 mph.

MLB’s No. 10 prospect got off to a slow start at the MLB level, with just one hit on Thursday (his first career hit) and June seventh, but that tends to be expected when a player goes from Triple-A to the major leagues. However, Caglianone has only struck out four times in 25 plate appearances, making contact 21 times, and all of those, extremely hard contact in the 90s to over 100 mph in each plate appearance. Once he finds his groove, Caglianone will have his breakthrough moment.

He spoke with the media on Sunday following his four-hit performance, saying with a smile on his face, “It was really nice to finally see some balls fall.” Cagliaone has only been with the big league club for six days, but any player can get a little down when they feel like they’re not producing. Caglianone described the Royals’ locker room as what’s keeping him positive. “The guys in their have been really supportive,” he said. They told him not to change anything and just keep doing thing. And today, staying focused and grounded paid off.

In describing what the last six days have been like, he described it as a “whirlwind.”

“Super blessed, super thankful.”

Next stop for the Gator baseball legend will be Kaufmann stadium on Tuesday for his debut in Kansas City and he said he’s excited for that. “Got a bunch of friends and family coming, so I’m excited for that,” he said.

Jonathan India has been raking too for the Royals

Caglianone isn’t the only former Gator heating up at the plate. The 2018 graduate, Jonathan India, has been a huge contributor to the Royals’ offense this season. Also a first-round draft pick (to the Cincinnati Reds and traded to Kansas City in 2024), India, the Royals’ third baseman, is batting .248/.331/.323, with a .654 OPS in 2025. He has 11 doubles, two home runs, 17 RBIs, and 26 runs scored.

In May, Caglianone had a hit in all but eight games with eight multi-hit games. Now in June, he already has three multi-hit games, including going 3-for-5 on June 3rd, 2-for-4 on June 5, and 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs on Sunday, joining his fellow Gator Grad in crushing the ball.

The Kansas Gator boys have stayed hot and they’ll look to keep creaming baseballs on Tuesday when the Royals return home to Kaufmann Stadium.
