After months of "talking season," the Florida Gators are going to take the field this Saturday against LIU to open the 2025 season. Florida enters with high hopes of making noise this year despite one of the most difficult schedules in the country.

Fortunately, LIU shouldn't offer much of a challenge and this should be an easy way for Florida to ease into the 2025 campaign.

What is the series history between Florida and LIU?

This will be the first time the two teams have met, as LIU has only been playing D1 football since 2019.

Originally, Florida was supposed to face FAMU in 2025. Due to scheduling conflicts, that game got cancelled, and Florida had to pivot to LIU.

What is the weather expected to be for Florida and LIU?

It's summertime in Florida, so it should be no surprise what the weather is going to look like in Gainesville on Saturday.

As of this writing, there is a 70% chance of rain during the day with storms expected to continue into the night.

What are the odds for Florida vs LIU?

No primary sportsbook seems to want to touch this game, and we can't blame them. On paper, LIU is so overmatched in this game, and that's not just hyperbole.

Even among FCS opponents, the Sharks might be the worst FCS squad to step into The Swamp in ages.

If Florida wants to, it could be up 40 points by halftime.
