FSU Football has bake sale to help raise NIL money after 2-10 season

Mike Norvell got great at making apple turnovers last year and wanted to help the program out

Anything that could go wrong did go wrong for FSU Football in 2024. After an offseason of complaining about getting left out of the 2023 playoffs, the Seminoles would have struggled to make the NAIA playoffs in 2024. Given the stadium renovations happening at Doak Campbell Stadium, attendance capacity was reduced for FSU, which was probably a blessing for fans but a problem for the university.

The Seminoles are broke, and no one outside the ACC seems to want them. What started as a joke from Mike Norvell looks like it will take flight as FSU is planning a bake sale to help raise NIL funds and get back on its feet.

FSU Football: Kitchen Nightmares

Speaking to reporters outside of FSU's Flying High Circus, Norvell laid out his vision:

"I'd be a fool not to. The only time we tried to play defense last year was when Florida planted their flag on us. And after ranking 123rd in turnovers per game last year, it got me really into baking this offseason. If anyone knows about being cooked, it's me."

Transfer QB Tommy Castellanos added he is really excited to participate in this bake sale:

"I know I lost my job at Boston College last year, but that's because I didn't have these apple turnovers to motivate me."

Some have questioned why to wait until April 1st to do this bake sale when the transfer portal has come and gone, and the funds could have been used there. Norvell is tired of being questioned:

"I bet you are the same people who told us going 13-0 would get us to the playoffs. So we tried going 2-10, and you guys didn't like that either. So unless you are going to buy some of my apple turnovers and be part of the solution, I don't want to hear it."

This may work, it may not.

But after going 2-10, FSU would be a fool not to try anything and everything to get back on their feet on April 1st.
