Well, the wait is finally over for Kansas City Royals fans, Florida Gator fans, and Jac Caglianone. After being brought up to the majors earlier this month, Caglianone's very long-anticipated career MLB home run has finally been hit, and it certainly was one that will be remembered forever.

After getting his first off day since being called up on June 2 and making his MLB debut on June 3, Caglianone made his return to the lineup today, June 19, against the Texas Rangers after starting his first few weeks in the MLB hitting .196 in 14 games. It seemed Caglianone was struggling a lot at the plate and just wasn't seeing pitches very well, as he already had 12 strikeouts on the season.

However, it seems like the off day worked out well for Caglianone as his first at-bat back ended the long wait for the young slugger's first career home run. The former Florida baseball star hit his first home run 387 feet out to right center field to give the Royals a 3-0 lead in the second inning of their game against the Texas Rangers.

The Royals gave Jac Caglianone the silent treatment after his first-ever MLB home run

Caglianone may be a star already in such a short time i the MLB, but his teammates certainly still find time to humble the young star. After Caglianone hit his first home run and was very animated rounding the bases, the former Gator walked into the dugout and was probably expecting his team to give him high fives and hugs, but instead, everyone stayed on the railing, seemingly giving him the silent treatment.

The silent treatment lasted for about 20 seconds until Royals star Bobby Witt Jr. came over and started cdelebrating with Caglianone, signaling to the rest of his teammates that the silent treatment was over. Cags was swarmed with screams, high fives, and hugs, none bigger than from the Royals' captain, Salvador Perez.

It was shown on the Royals' broadcast that as Cags was rounding the bases, Witt told the team to give the rookie the silent treatment, which is all just fun and games. The team celebrated big with him, and Cags was all smiles as he returned to the dugout railing.

This is the first of hopefully many home runs for Caglianone in his MLB career, but he finally got the first one out of the way and can maybe even breathe a bit easier from here on out.
