The transfer portal is closed for business in terms of new members of Florida Football entering the portal, but there are still a number of now former members of the Gators who still have to find a new home for the 2025 season.
One of the more notable entrants to the portal has announced where he will be playing next season.
Florida Football: Steel City
Andy Jean has announced that he will be transferring to Pittsburgh for the 2025 season. Jean was part of the class of 2023 and was part of the trio of wide receivers who came to Gainesville that year with high hopes, along with Eugene Wilson and Aidan Mizell.
While Jean was considered a fringe four-star coming out of high school, there were some performances that indicated his potential. Against IMG, for example, he had six catches for 122 yards and two touchdowns.
But once in Gainesville, he never cracked the rotation. He had six catches in 2023 as a true freshman, but injuries derailed any momentum to play in 2024, and he made just a brief appearance against Mississippi State.
Pittsburgh went 7-6 in 2024 and concluded the season with a 6OT loss to Toldeo in the GameAbove Sports Bowl. Notably, former Gator Donovan McMillon took over 800 snaps for the Panthers in 2024.
Pittsburgh had five receivers catch at least 37 passes in 2024 but will need to replace their top receiver Konata Mumpfield, who had over 800 yards this year.
Jean will still have three seasons of eligibility remaining at Pitt.
