It has been quite the quest for former Florida Football star Ricky Pearsall since leaving Gainesville. The wide receiver fell just short of 1,000 yards last year with Florida, was drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft to San Francisco, and was then shot during a failed robbery attempt during the preseason.
On Sunday Pearsall added another chapter to his story as the rookie found the endzone for the first time in the NFL.
Florida Football: Run Ricky Run
Playing just a couple hours south of Gainesville in Tampa, Pearsall caught a pass on the Tampa Bay 30-yard line. He made a stutter move that froze safety Antoine Winfield Jr. and Pearsall was able to run the rest of the way into the endzone.
Pearsall made his NFL debut on 10/20 against Kansas City and, coming into the game, had seven catches for 59 yards in the two games he had appeared in.
Pearsall went viral last season after his Superman catch and amassed 65 catches for 965 yards, enabling him to shoot up NFL Draft boards into the first round. He was the only Florida Gator drafted in the 2024 draft.
Prior to his time with Florida, the Arizona native attended Arizona State for three seasons.
