Florida Football standout and NFL wide receiver Kadarius Toney was arrested last week in Georgia on allegations of aggravated assault by strangulation and obstructing a 911 call, according to TMZ Sports.

The incident reportedly took place on January 14 at a Georgia residence, where Toney is accused of placing his hands around a woman’s throat and applying pressure with enough force to prevent her from breathing. Police documents obtained by TMZ state that the woman suffered visible injuries, including red marks on her neck and petechial hemorrhaging in her eyes, consistent with strangulation. Additionally, Toney allegedly took the woman’s phone to prevent her from calling emergency services.

Following the allegations, authorities issued a warrant for Toney’s arrest on January 15. He was taken into custody on February 6 and booked into a Douglas County facility. Court records indicate that Toney’s bond was set at $25,000 for each charge, totaling $50,000. He was later released after posting bail.

Toney, 26, was a first-round draft pick by the New York Giants in 2021 after a breakout senior season at Florida, where he recorded 70 catches for 984 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022, where he played a crucial role in their Super Bowl LVII victory, scoring a key touchdown and contributing a game-changing punt return.

Most recently, Toney spent time with the Cleveland Browns during the 2024 season but was released in December. Throughout his NFL career, he has accumulated 82 receptions for 760 yards and three touchdowns.

As of now, Toney has not made a public statement regarding the allegations. The case remains under investigation, and further legal proceedings are expected in the coming weeks.
