According to an article published by the Minnesota Vikings' Lindsey Young, former Florida standout linebacker Jonathan Greenard has officially been selected for the 2025 NFL Pro Bowl.
The Pro Bowl Games will be held in Orlando, Florida, starting with a skills competition on Thursday, January 30th before ending with the main event of a flag football matchup on Sunday, February 2nd. The game will be played at Camping World Stadium.

This will be the first Pro Bowl appearance for Greenard, the lone former Gator invited to participate. Greenard's selection should come as no surprise, however, given the impact he's had on the Vikings. Greenard has recorded fifty-four tackles, sixteen tackles for loss, and a whopping eleven sacks. He has also forced four fumbles. If he accepts the invitation (assuming the Vikings aren't playing in the Super Bowl), he would become the first former Florida player to participate in a Pro Bowl since Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts, who played in the game in February of 2022. Chiefs punter Tommy Townsend was selected last year but was unable to participate due to Kansas City's scheduled matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl.
Greenard's short Florida career was telling of his future NFL success. The former Louisville star transferred to Florida for his graduate season and boasted 9.5 sacks in his 2019 campaign, which led the SEC. His impactful season landed him a First-Team All-SEC selection. Greenard was later drafted by the Houston Texans with the ninetieth overall pick in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, one which saw a grand total of seven former Florida players drafted.
After four impressive seasons with the Texans, Greenard signed a four-year, $76 million contract with the Minnesota Vikings. His successful tenure with Houston set the stage for this major move, where he is now a key defensive player for the Vikings. He claimed the NFC Defensive Player of the Month Award for November and hasn't let up since. Minnesota's decision to utilize time, resources, and most importantly, money, appears to be paying hefty dividends.
