In the era of the transfer portal, it can be difficult to keep up with who plays where heading into each season. Florida Gators fans in 2025 are bound to do a couple of double takes going, "Hey, don't you look familiar?"
While there are probably others that we missed, the following are six notable players linked to Florida's past who they will see during the 2025 season.
Carson Beck is with Miami heading into 2025
Gators fans have become well acquainted with Beck over the years. Last year, while with Georgia, the Gators had Beck dead to rights, and if not for DJ Lagway going down with a hamstring injury, there is reason to believe Florida would have beaten Georgia.
Beck eventually got hurt in the SEC title game and missed Georgia's playoff game against Notre Dame. He has since transferred to Miami, and Florida will see him during week four.
Austin Simmons
If Ole Miss QB Austin Simmons morphs into who we think he has the chance to morph into, the headlines for Florida vs. Ole Miss game this season could be off the chain.
If you don't follow recruiting or backup QBs at Ole Miss, then you may not be familiar with Simmons.
But if you do follow recruiting, then you remember his saga during the summer of 2023. Simmons was verbally committed to being a Gator and was originally a member of the class of 2025.
Then rumblings started to emerge that Simmons might reclassify to the class of 2023 and enroll early, which he did wind up doing, but he also flipped to Ole Miss in the process.
Jack Pyburn and Ja'Keem Jackson
In a two-for-one bonus, Jack Pyburn and Ja'Keem Jackson probably would have been key cogs in Florida's defense in 2025 had they stayed in Gainesville.
Instead, both transferred to LSU.
Pyburn, in particular, made quite a bit of noise on his way out the door that ruined any bit of goodwill he may have built with Gator Nation.
Squirrel White
The former Tennessee wide receiver transferred to FSU over the offseason after a down year with the Volunteers in 2024.
But despite the fact White only had 381 yards receiving in 2024, 71 of those yards came off five catches against the Gators.
And even in the year prior, when Florida beat Tennessee, White had three catches for 68 yards.
Josh Celiscar
Probably the least recognizable name on the list unless you are a hardcore UCF fan, but 2025 won't be the first time Celiscar has faced the Gators.
He is currently an EDGE with USF and spent last with Texas A&M but only played in one game.
But you remember the Gasparilla Bowl, the one UCF fans turned into their Super Bowl for years? Celiscar was a member of UCF at the time. He had four tackles in that game and was credited with a QB hurry.
