If you are feeling sad about the state of the Florida Gators in football, just remember that basketball season is right around the corner. The defending national champions have a loaded non-conference slate that includes a date at Duke this season.
But if you are hoping to travel to Durham to watch that game, all we can say is good luck.
Florida vs. Duke tickets are insane
As part of the SEC/ACC Challenge, Florida is going to play Duke on December 2nd at 7:30 PM on ESPN. This will be the first time Florida has played at Duke since 1998.
Tickets right now to get in are wild. If one goes through Duke's official website, they can apply to the waitlist and hope to be selected.
Other than that, you can currently try your hand on the secondary market where the cheapest ticket on Ticketmaster is litteraly $1,230.66.
For that kind of money, they should at least let you take warmups with the team.
Now, realistically, once more people get access to their tickets and the overall available supply goes up, the prices will drop somewhat back to Earth. Florida, for example, doesn't have single-game tickets for sale and starts its presale on October 14.
Though at the same time, to get season tickets with Duke, according to their own website:
"Iron Dukes members contributing at the Stadium Level or above are eligible to apply for Duke Men's Basketball season tickets. The projected Stadium Level minimum donation to be eligible to purchase a pair of tickets in 2025-26 is $8,000/year per pair with a 3-year commitment to the Iron Dukes Annual Fund."
Duke also has a hardline stance against ticket scalping:
"Ticket scalping is against Duke University policy and is strictly prohibited. Unauthorized resale of tickets will result in loss of ticket purchasing privileges for all Duke Athletics events including ACC Tournaments and NCAA competition. Additionally, tickets held for any remaining contests will be voided without a refund. Duke Athletics strongly encourages all Duke Men's Basketball season ticket holders to take advantage of the Duke Men's Basketball Ticket Waitlist when unable to attend a game. If you are unfamiliar with how this exclusive program works, please see above for more information. Once again, Duke Athletics would like to thank you in advance for being a responsible fan!"
Florida and Duke both made the Final Four last season, and it looked like the two squads were going to meet up in the championship game before Duke had an epic collapse against Houston in the national semi-finals.
