Billy Napier and the Gators added a pair of big-time recruits to their 2026 class over the weekend, securing commitments from four-star wide receiver Justin Williams and three-star offensive lineman Chancellor Campbell on Sunday. They are joined by four-star quarterback Will Griffin, four-star safety Kaiden Hall, three-star defensive lineman Jamir Perez and three-star offensive lineman G'Nivre Carr, rounding out a six-person class.

Consisting of three four-stars and three three-stars by On3's ratings, Florida's 2026 class has gotten a massive boost recently, and it's reflected in the country-wide rankings.

Florida football climbing in recruiting rankings

There can be major discrepancies in recruiting rankings across sites at this point in the recruiting season. It's still early on, and teams range from having over 20 recruits to just one or two.

Florida falls on the lower end of the range, pushing it down further on sites like 247Sports and Rivals, which tend to value volume over quality.

On3 Sports ranks the Gators' class 25th in the nation, 247Sports had Florida at 63 and Rivals at 54. The wide array of rankings is the exact reason why per-player ratings provide a more accurate read on a school's recruiting haul at this point -- and it paints a much happier picture for the Gators.

All three platforms had Florida in the top 20 in their average rankings, highlighting the high-level recruits Napier has been able to lure to Gainesville.

Florida peaks at 13th in average rating via On3, just ahead of powerhouses like Clemson, Michigan, Penn State and Texas. Interestingly, Rivals sorts its per-player rankings by average number of stars, which places the Gators at 3.5 stars and ranks them 12th in the SEC, tied for 19th overall.

Despite having Kaiden Hall as a three-star instead of a four, 247 Sports had Florida ranked 16th in the country on a per-player basis.

We're still early in the recruiting cycle, so these rankings should be taken as incomplete assessments of the class. Still, it's a positive sign for the Gators, who will look to build on their strong start to the summer.
