Despite all the chaos and all the noise surrounding Billy Napier, the Florida Gators are going to walk into The Swamp on Saturday as a sizable favorite against Mississippi State. The Bulldogs started 4-0, but have dropped their past two games.
They will be coming off a bye week, but these are three real stats that paint a picture of why Florida is still a massive favorite.
117th in tackles for a loss
Florida's offensive line has had its fair share of problems, but Mississippi State is not great at generating pressure itself. The Bulldogs are 117th in the country in tackles for a loss, generating just 4.33 tackles for a loss per game.
If DJ Lagway can stay upright and Jadan Baugh isn't met in the backfield, there should be plenty of chances to move the ball.
111th in "Long passes"
Blake Shapen has been effective for Mississippi State, but he hasn't been an explosive passer.
The Bulldogs have just 41 passes that have gone for at least 10 yards this season. That's 111th in the country. They also have just 14 passes that have gone for at least 20 yards this season. That's 106th in the country.
Even Florida, with all the issues they have had on offense, beat Mississippi State in both of these categories.
110th in sacks allowed
A massive problem this season for the Bulldogs has been its offensive line. Against Texas A&M, their offensive line received a PFF grade of 43.7 for pass blocking.
The thing is, outside of Northern Illinois and Arizona State, the highest grade the line has received all year is 62.2.
Illustrating the problems the Bulldogs have had is the fact that Mississippi State has allowed 16 sacks on the season. That is 110th in the country.
Once again, despite Florida's problems, the Gators are better in this category.
