Florida adds second player from Baylor
Kalu, the 6’4”, 309lb lineman is no stranger to high level football, and neither is his family. His father, N.D. Kalu was also a defensive lineman and played 11 years in the NFL, including time with the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington, and the Houston Texans.
[DK] Kalu, the 83rd ranked defensive lineman according to On3 and the No. 7 according to PFF College, visited Gainesville on Sunday. With two years left in his eligibility he will be reunited with his former teammate, DJ Coleman in The Swamp. Coleman gave his commitment to the University of Florida on Sunday after he visited Gainesville in a trip that he described as one that “just kept getting better and better.” He noted that Coach Sumrall was fired up all weekend.
Scouts have described Kalu as SEC ready and a lineman who will make an impact with his size and talent.
Between Kalu and Coleman, the Florida just snagged two talented stars from Baylor and the transfer portal window is just beginning. Players have until January 16 to declare and enter into the transfer portal, so a lot can still happen in the next couple weeks.
But the Florida Gators can begin stacking numbers after a productive weekend of visits with prospective players over the weekend.
