On paper, Florida’s class of 2024 had the chance to be a solid class to build from for the Gators. The class itself was ranked 13th basaed soley off the high school commits, but was even stronger than that when one factors in a couple of other late additions who technically counted as transfers.
Fast forward two years, and that class has completely fallen apart with just a few hearty souls still in Gainesville (for now).
So let’s look back at the players who committed to Florida from that class and what their status is now with the Gators.
DJ Lagway
What more is there to say about DJ Lagway at this point other than he just didn’t live up to his billing in 2025? He will be transferring away, but we have a feeling his story is far from over.
LJ McCray
Perhaps the single biggest wildcard on the roster right now, we didn’t see much of LJ McCray as a true freshman, and he was hurt this past season. If he sticks around in Gainesville, he is going to need a monster 2026 season to avoid the bust label.
Aaron Chiles
Heading into the 2024 season, Aaron Chiles was dubbed an “Alien” by Florida’s coaching staff, only to seldom play. He did take 472 snaps this season, and while he did have his moments, he was far from an impact player. For now, he is still with Florida, though there are rumblings that he is trying to work out a new deal.
Myles Graham
He has lived up to the billing so far and was flying around on the field this season. Myles Graham has also announced he will come back for the 2026 season.
Fletcher Westphal
If he sticks around, one would think Fletcher Westphal would be in the running to be in the rotation in 2026 along the offensive line. But in two years, we have seen very little of the former four-star offensive tackle.
Amir Jackson
Seemed like a great fit for Billy Napier’s offense and was a highly rated tight end coming out of high school, but he only had three catches in 2025 and will be hitting the transfer portal.
KD Daniels
Another player we liked coming out of high school, but injuries and a deep running back room prevented KD Daniels from getting any real snaps. He will be hitting the transfer portal.
Tank Hawkins
The fastest player on the roster for Florida just never found a way to crack the rotation. We also pin some of that on Billy Napier. Hawkins sat out the back end of the year to preserve his redshirt, and he will be hitting the transfer portal.
Greg Smith
A late addition to the class of 2024, Greg Smith was seen as an athletic but raw safety. He was getting starter's reps during the spring, but he opted to hit the transfer portal in the spring and went to UNC.
TJ Abrams
He was a lower-rated four-star who didn’t have a ton of hype coming into the class, but he did carve out snaps in 2025 and had over 200 yards receiving. As of now, he is coming back for 2026.
Josiah Davis
He hasn’t hit the transfer portal yet, but we wouldn’t be shocked if Josiah Davis left. In two seasons, he has taken a total of 18 snaps.
Mike Williams
A mid-tier three-star offensive lineman who transferred after one year and wound up at Towson.
Jadan Baugh
What’s funny about Jadan Baugh being the singular player Florida has to try and keep right now is that he wasn’t considered a highly regarded prospect coming out of high school. 247 had Baugh as a three-star, and overall, he was a lower-rated four-star. He has been awesome so far, but can Florida keep him?
Based on new "sources" from today, it doesn't look great for Florida to keep him.
D'Antre Robinson
D’Antre Robinson would have gotten significant snaps this season with Florida, but he opted to hit the transfer portal in the spring and wound up at UNC.
Brien Taylor Jr.
At times, Brien Taylor Jr. had some sneaky production for Florida in 2025. He wasn’t a game wrecker, but he did take 268 snaps this year and could be a useful rotation guy along the interior of the defensive line if he sticks around.
Teddy Foster
He took 48 snaps over two seasons with the Gators, and he is off to the transfer portal.
Michai Boireau
Kind of like Taylor Jr., Michai Boireau isn’t anything off the charts. But considering he was a low-rated three-star who was at least able to eat up 296 snaps this season and had the game-winning interception against Mississippi State, he is also considered one of the few success stories from this class.
But like many others, he as opted to hit the transfer portal.
Marcus Mascoll
Low-rated offensive lineman who never took a snap and is off to the transfer portal.
Noel Portnjagin
Was seen as a project when Florida grabbed him from Europe. He took five snaps against Tulane last year, and that’s been it. As of now, he is still on the roster.
Enoch Wangoy
Another low-rated tackle who was also seen as a project, he has yet to take a snap with the Gators but is still on the roster.
Jamroc Grimsley
He gets a little more complicated since he technically counted as a transfer from Alabama, but Jamroc Grimsley was seen as a great addition at the time the Gators grabbed him. Injuries did help, though, and Grimsley is back into the transfer portal.
Jason Zandamela
He is in that similar category as Grimsley in that he was a higher-rated guy who technically transferred in from Southern Cal before his freshman season actually began. Outside of 31 snaps against LIU, he hasn’t been seen, but we would imagine he would be in the mix at center for 2026.
