Darryon Williams is a 5'11" and 165-pound wide receiver from Tampa who is currently committed to FSU. He made this commitment to the Seminoles back in April of 2024 before the wheels on the bus completely fell off FSU's 2-10 campaign this past season.
Three of the four major services have him ranked as a four-star, with On3 having him the highest at 213 overall.
FSU's disaster of a season has left the door open for Florida to try to come in an flip the speedster as he will be on campus this weekend for a visit.
Florida trying to flip Darryon Williams from FSU
The calling card for Williams is speed, and he ran a 10.75-second 100-meter dash this past track season and placed 5th in the Hillsborough Country Championships.
On film, this speed shows up as seemingly no one is able to keep the top on Williams and stop him from going deep. Even in situations where he catches a screen that should go for no gain, he finds a way to wiggle out and burst his way down the field.
The knock on Williams that seems to stop him from being ranked even higher is his size and the fact he wasn't featured more heavily in Plant's offense this past season (just 18 catches for 237 yards in 11 games). But he was also teammates with current Florida RB Duke Clark, so Plant could have also leaned on Clark way more to spark the offense.
Florida originally offered Williams back in June of 2024 after his FSU commitment, and according to his 247 profile, he was on campus in January for an unofficial visit. He was also on campus at FSU when the Gators came to town, and FSU got their feeling hurt.
This weekend will be his first official visit, and the only two visits he has lined up after Gainesville this weekend are to FSU and Louisville.
