Every single Florida fan in the city of Gainesville can now take a unified sigh of relief as this recent update on DJ Lagway is exactly what everyone wants to hear. It was reported last week that Lagway was seen in a boot during fall camp practices, worrying Florida fans everywhere.
With a recent update from On3 senior Gator writer Zach Abolverdi, fans can rejoice as Lagway is officially out of the boot, and it is anticipated that he will be ready and on the field come the start of the season. Abolverdi did say this wasn't a major injury, which is a sign of relief, probably for the coaching staff and the rest of the team as well.
Lagway is an integral part of this Florida offense moving forward, and without him, the Gators' offense could struggle, which, with how tough the Florida schedule is, could turn out to be problematic.

"He's out of his boot now, he's moving around good at practice....this isn't a major injury...I anticipate him being out there when the Gators open the season."
College sports analyst with emphasis on the SEC, Paul Finebaum, was the one who shared the update on Lagway, which shows how big of a potential injury this was. Lagway is the heart of this offense and him being healthy if crucial to Florida making it to the College Football Playoff this upcoming season.
With fall camp beginning, the Gaotrs may not use Lagway as much as possible until he is fully back to 100%. Fall camp is obviously crucial to getting teams ready for the season, but hopefully Lagway should be able to step right in once he is fully healthy and not need as much work with the first team. The good thing is that he is in the building and already moving around well, which is just about as good of an update as the Gators and their fans could have gotten at this time.
