One of the biggest goals during fall camp, above all else, is to keep everyone healthy and upright. During the Billy Napier era, it seemed like at least one key player each camp suffered a season-ending injury before the season ever got started.

During his press conference on Monday, Jon Sumrall noted some minor injuries that have started to build up, along with a potential depth piece suffering a more notable injury.

Most of Florida’s fall-camp injuries appear minor

Sumrall listed six players that he classified as “soft tissue guys, like normal training camp boo-boos.” Those six players are:

Kamran James

Duke Clark

Marquez Daniel

C.J. Bronaugh

Kaiden Hall

Jaylen Jordon

James and Clark are the most notable of the six, given that James should be a key cog along the defensive line and Clark has been in a good spot to be Florida’s RB2. Bronaugh, Daniel, and Hall are all freshmen, none of whom are expected on Florida’s two-deep roster just yet. Jordon is a senior tight end transfer but isn’t expected to make much of an impact in 2026.

Kendall Guervil is the injury Florida needs to monitor

Sumrall also listed three players with more significant injuries. Those three are:

Evan Chieca

Kendall Guervil

Kelvin Jimenez

Chieca is a transfer tight end. Sumrall said he had an unspecified injury that will keep him out for at least a week, but also stressed it was more precautionary than anything else.

Guervil is the most notable of anyone that Sumrall listed. Sumrall said he reaggravated his knee after Guervil had to miss his senior year of high school with an injury to that same knee. Sumrall isn’t sure how long Guervil will be out. If healthy, Guervil could have been a rotational piece along the interior of the defensive line.

Jimenez is a third-year walk-on running back who has yet to take a snap in Gainesville. Sumrall said he suffered a contact injury and is going to be out for quite some time.

Florida fans excited Dallas Wilson is on the field

Perhaps as significant is who Sumrall highlighted as not being injured. Dallas Wilson missed Florida’s spring game as he has been working through the foot injury that kept him out for the bulk of the 2025 season.

Sumrall noted that Wilson has been on the field and detailed the plan the Gators have for him this fall:

“So in our ramp-up plan for Dallas, it was, we had a yardage for Wednesday's practice we wanted, a yardage for Thursday's practice we wanted, and then a deload day for Friday's practice. He still went about 4,000 yards on Friday, he practiced. We cut back a lot of the individual reps and scaled back certain things he did to make sure he still got the right number of team reps. And then Saturday he was full-go, didn't miss anything.”
