Recruiting has been on the upswing for Florida these past couple of weeks as the Gators were able to get the commitment of five-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller and highly rated four-star QB Davin Davidson. Florida is also coming off a productive spring game that had several other key prospects on campus as Jon Sumrall tries to set the foundation for a strong class of 2027.

One of the prospects he is seemingly getting close to landing isn’t the flashiest of prospects, but he is a productive, do-it-all player who could fill one of any number of roles on the field.

Florida is trying to gain the commitment of Kamarion Johnson

Kamarion Johnson is an athlete out of Georgia. Listed at 6’0” and 185 pounds, he is a three-star with Rivals and 247, while ESPN has him unrated. Once Johnson gets to college, the plan for him is to play safety.

On film, he seems to play everything as Johnson gets used as a wide receiver, running back, safety, corner, and punt/kick returner. And no matter where he is on the field, he always finds a way to make an impact. He can make difficult catches in traffic, whether it’s on offense or defense, and he just has a way to always pull away and let no one catch him.

He’s probably accurately rated as a higher three-star, but his all-around versatility makes him an intriguing prospect.

Johnson was in town over the weekend, and Florida seems to be high on him. Johnson was an NC State commit, but backed off that commitment last week. With that backdrop, Gators Online has logged a prediction in favor of Florida landing Johnson, so we’ll see if that comes true. Johnson was also in Tallahassee over the weekend for a visit with FSU.
