Once the Florida Gators decided to part ways with Billy Napier, you had a feeling it was going to lead to some commits to have a change of heart. Is that going to be the case for four-star cornerback CJ Bronaugh before the Early Signing Period gets here?
These five Gator players just haven't been good enough in 2025
That's what plenty of Florida football fans are worried about, as the standout defensive back is off to Columbus this weekend for an official visit with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Ryan Day and his staff have been putting in serious work in flipping guys. Is the same going to be the case for the Big Ten powerhouse when it comes to Bronaugh?
I like the Buckeyes here. https://t.co/4m1KjlMp9V

Ohio State football is working to flip Florida commit CJ Bronaugh
Should this happen, it would not be the first time that Bronnaugh has committed to a school, only to tell them he's actually going to head elsewhere. The playmaker was previously committed to Matt Rhule and the Nebraska Cornhuskers, but decommitted on June 17.
Then on June 18, Bronaugh gave Napier and his staff the news they were hoping for. However, a lot has changed since then, as Napier was fired, Billy Gonzales is the interim coach and it's up in the air who's going to be running the show in 2026.
With so much uncertainty for Florida, Day is bringing in Bronaugh for an official visit and it could be a total game-changer in terms of his recruitment. In the last week alone, Day has flipped cornerback Jay Timmons, defensive lineman Emanuel Ruffin, offensive lineman Mason Wilhelm and athlete Legend Bey.
That's not a total surprise, as the Buckeyes are the No. 1 team in the country and they're in a good spot to repeat as the national champs. While that's great for Day, Bronaugh potentially turning his back on Florida would be a major setback for the Gators' 2026 class.
For now, Bronaugh is still Florida-bound, but Ohio State is going to go all-in to prevent that from happening, with his upcoming visit to OSU being one that Florida fans are quite worried about. We'll see how things play out here.
