“It’s hot outside… good thing I’m used to the heat. Them Gator boys stay hot.” Those were the words of the newest Florida Gators class of 2026 commit, 4-star inside offensive lineman Desmond Green in a video posted on X by Nick Marcinko of Gator Country as he took a hoodie off displaying his University of Florida polo shirt, took a UF hat out of a box, put it on, and pledged his commitment to the University of Florida on Thursday.
The 4-star recruit from Timberland High School in Saint Stephen, South Carolina, had 20 offers from schools, including Georgia, South Carolina, Oklahoma, and Virginia Tech. But after falling in love with the Swamp during his June 13th visit, the No. 9 prospect out of the state of South Carolina chose to go down south to Florida.
The 6’5”, 354lb IOL ranks as the No. 393 overall prospect and the No. 33 offensive guard in the 2026 recruiting class. He is also a 247 Sports composite athlete, has a 5.9 Rivals ranking, and is ranked No. 139 nationally by Rivals.com, second in the state, and seventh at interior offensive line.
In a highlight video posted by Dylan Olive, a UF Journalism graduate shows Green absolutely tearing through an opposing defense, allowing his running back to the ball 50 yard down the field. In looking for a bully to help out your offense, that is exactly what you get in Green.
Green is an absolute tank with a 500lbs squat, 335lb bench, and a 450lb deadlift. He runs a 5.67 40-yard dash and is a true athlete. He is known for his balance and physicality on the offensive line.
Not only is Green a three-star tank on the offensive line of the football field, but he has played basketball, and was a track & field athlete in high school as well, giving him speed off the line as displayed in his recruiting videos.
With Green now off the recruiting board and added to UF’s commitment list, Billy Napier and the Gators now have 14 verbal commitments in their 2026 recruiting class, ranking them No. 12 nationally on the composite.
