Florida Gators social media trolls Georgia's inability to not get pulled over
It's rivalry week as Florida gets ready to take on Georgia on Saturday, and as with any rivalry, teams are going to poke and prod at their rival.
The Gators are double-digit underdogs to the Bulldogs, but that didn't stop Florida's social media team from taking a not-so-subtle dig at the school from Athens.
Florida Football: Drive Safe
In partnership with the Florida Department Of Transportation, Florida posted on X a graphic with the words "Drive Safe" in large font with the city of Jacksonville as the backdrop.
The caption said "We'll 👀 you in Jacksonville for @FLvsGA this weekend‼️ But no matter where you're coming from, get there safely with a designated driver."
It's no secret that Georgia has had one or two problems getting places safely. Since January of 2023, the Bulldogs have had at least 25 players arrested or cited for driving-related offenses. In numerous cases, Georgia players have been clocked going over 100 MPH and/or been cited for driving under the influence.
Trevor Etienne, for example, ran into zero trouble during his time in Gainesville. He was arrested just months into his time in Athens for DWI and was suspended for their opener against Clemson.
Kirby Smart has tried to deflect these incidents and a portion of Georgia fans have tried to pin these problems on the Athens police being vindictive, but 25+ players and growing is a cycle he hasn't been able to stop.
