Coming into the NFL Draft, most mock drafts made it seem like it would be tough sledding for a Florida Gator to be selected in the first three rounds. While Florida did have the 9th most players attend the NFL Combine, and most of Florida's players did well at the Combine, there were no players even sniffing the first two days of the draft outside of Cam Jackson and maybe Jason Marshall.
Sure enough, the first two nights of the draft have come and gone, and Florida has yet to have a player selected.
That breaks a streak where Florida has had at least one player selected in the first three rounds of the NFL Draft since 1994.
Florida has a streak of having at least one player selected in every NFL Draft since 1952, and that streak should continue as Florida has anywhere from five to seven guys who could get called on Day 3.
Thomas Haugh officially returns to Florida
One of the gambits for the Gators in trying to defend their national title is simply keeping the roster intact. Florida has seen all four of their main guards leave, either through graduation or the transfer portal, and have Alex Condon and Rueben Chinyelu exploring the NBA Draft process.
One other potential candidate for the NBA Draft gave Todd Golden and company some good news as Thomas Haugh formally announced on social media that he would be returning to Gainesville in 2025/26.
Haugh was a massive role player for the Gators and his 20 points against Texas Tech in the Elite Eight saved the day to allow Florida to advance to the Final Four.
Softball ready for top ten matchup
Coming off a critical series win over Alabama, and a run-rule win over USF, Florida is on the road for a massive top-ten matchup against LSU.
Florida is ranked 8th in the polls but is 2nd in RPI.
Florida has just this series and a series next week against No. 4 Oklahoma before the SEC Tournament begins.
The Gators are trying to lock down a top-eight national seed in order to host a potential Super Regional matchup down the road.
