It’s safe to say that in his first full season in MLB, former Gator Jac Caglianone has figured things out. It seems like every night at this point, he is getting featured by MLB Twitter for smashing baseballs like we used to see in Gainesville.
Last night against the Blue Jays, Caglianone went 5-for-6 with six RBIs and three runs scored. With the Blue Jays opting for a position player on the mound in the 9th inning, Caglianone capped off the night with a 409-foot blast that was 104.9 MPH off the bat.
He is the first Royals player with that stat line in a single game since 1987. According to Just Baseball, he is hitting .387/.406/.645 over his last 24 games. The Royals are still 8.5 games out of a wild card spot, but they are 9-1 over their last ten games.

Florida Soccer on a winning streak
For the first time since 2019, Florida Soccer is on a three-game winning streak. Florida knocked off Jacksonville 6-0 with goals from Zoe Main, Katie Johnston, Iori Watanabe, Lena Bailey (2), and Montelene Dymond, making for an easy night. Jacksonville also didn’t manage a shot on goal for the entire game.
Beyond the three-game winning streak, it’s also the first time since 2019 that Florida has scored at least three goals in at least four games within a single season. For those keeping score at home, Florida has only played four games this season.
Florida will take on FAU next on Sunday at 1 PM.

Volleyball drops showcase to Nebraska
Florida Volleyball got a chance to play on TNT against Nebraska as part of the Spikes Under The Lights event in AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. The match was part of a mini-tournament that featured a $1 million prize pool, with a best of three sets format with the first two sets played to 21 points.
Florida kept it tight in both sets, but Nebraska pulled away late in both. It was 19-19 in the first set before Nebraska claimed the set 21-19. Florida was within 18-17 in the second set, but wound up losing 21-18.
Logan King led Florida with a .350 hitting percentage while Taylor Parks had 17 assists.
