The Senior Bowl has been altered in recent years to allow juniors to participate if they plan to enter the NFL Draft. As a result, Florida had five players named to the Senior Bowl Top 300 list on Thursday morning.
Kamran James, Eric Singleton Jr., Bryce Thornton, Jadan Baugh, and Myles Graham were all named to the list, which takes place on January 30, 2027. Being named to this list doesn’t guarantee participation in the game, but it is a useful opportunity to connect with NFL coaches, scouts, and GMs to help boost a player's draft stock.
James and Thornton are the two intriguing names on the list, as there hasn’t been much hype around either this fall camp. But both are seasoned veterans on Florida’s roster who could play a key role in the Gator defense before all is said and done.
Florida Soccer picks up first win of the season
Florida Soccer is now in the win column after picking up a 3-2 win over Coastal Carolina. Similar to their opener against UCF, Florida took a 2-0 lead early in the 1st half. Kyra Taylor had two goals back-to-back, one in the 22nd minute and one in the 33rd minute.
And much like their game against UCF, the Gators gave up that 2-0 lead as Coastal Carolina scored two goals before halftime.
But Florida kept its attack going in the 2nd half and outshot Coastal 10-3, with seven of their ten shots being on target. Eventually,, in the 76th minute, Katie Johnston came through with the game-winning goal.
Florida is now 1-1 on the year under new head coach Nick Zimmerman. The Gators will take on FSU this Sunday at 2 PM.
Gator great Jac Caglianone avoids serious injury
Jac Caglianone has been on a tear with the Kansas City Royals in 2026, but on Wednesday he had to leave the game early due to an ankle injury. Caglianone was held out of Thursday’s game as a “precautionary measure.”
The Royals don’t seem to think the issue is major and don't expect it to be anything long-term.
Caglianone is currently batting .279 with 22 HRs and 60 RBIs.
