It seems like every day, former Florida baseball legend Jac Caglianone is doing something in minor leagues that has Kansas City Royals fans clamoring for him to be called up to the big club. Earlier this week, he had a grand slam in extra innings to help Northwest Arkansas Naturals win a game.

Caglianone got another notch in his minor league career as he got to square off with three-time Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw, who is coming back from surgery and made a rehab start on Tuesday.

Advantage Caglianone, who laced a double off Kershaw and followed that up with a single to go two for two against the future Hall of Famer.

Caglianone is batting .288 through 16 games in AA. He has 20 RBIs and an OPS of .882.

Florida Basketball officially adds two members

The Gators and Todd Golden were able to formally announce that Xaivian Lee and CJ Ingram have put pen to paper and will be joining the roster in 2025/26.

Lee is the transfer guard from Princeton the Gators hosted last week and were able to get a commitment from. Ingram is a top-25 prospect out of Montverde Academy and is the son of former Gator tight end Cornelius Ingram.

Both Lee and Ingram will look to fill the shoes of a Florida backcourt that has seen all four main guards from the national title run depart, either due to graduation or the transfer portal.

Taylor Shumaker honored again

For the third time this season, Taylor Shumaker has been named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week.

Shumaker is coming off the series against Alabama, where she went 6 for 12 with 7 RBIs and 2 home runs.

Florida Softball will host USF on Wednesday at 6 PM before hitting the road for another key SEC matchup against No. 10 LSU.

After this weekend, Florida has just one final series in the regular season against Oklahoma before postseason play begins.
