The Florida Gators are set to take on USF inside The Swamp on Saturday at 4:15. Florida was without a handful of notable players for the opener against LIU as the Gators seemed to drop like flies during training camp.

Because this isn't an SEC matchup, Florida is not required to release an injury report prior to the game, so the status of a handful of Gators is going to be a mystery prior to kickoff.

Caleb Banks is "Close to ready"

The headliner of the injury list is defensive tackle Caleb Banks. After opting to come back for 2025 and not enter the NFL Draft, Banks picked up an injury towards the back end up training camp.

He was held out against LIU, but when asked earlier this week about the status of Banks, head coach Billy Napier indicated that:

"Caleb's doing good. He's doing really well. He's kind of hit the next step. So he's really close. So, we'll see where he's at this weekend."

Barring a setback, it seems like Banks will play this weekend.

Dallas Wilson

The news doesn't seem as positive for freshman wide receiver Dallas Wilson. He's been a walking boot for quite some time, and there doesn't seem to be a ton of positive momentum for him to play this week.

Aidan Mizell

In a make-or-break year for the redshirt sophomore, he started out as a late scratch against LIU. He had missed time during camp but returned later in camp and seemed good to go until another issue popped up.

It doesn't seem serious with Mizell, so he will probably be a game-time decision.

The rest of the squad

The following are the remaining players who missed the game against LIU. Some of these, like Treyaun Webb and Fletcher Westphal, are expected to miss several weeks.

Some of these, though, are clouded in mystery and will likely be game-time decisions:

  • Treyaun Webb
  • Micah Jones
  • TJ Dice Jr.
  • Devon Manuel
  • Fletcher Westphal
  • LJ McCray
  • Grayson Howard
  • Jamroc Grimsley
  • Ben Hanks III
  • Onis Konanbanny
