Florida Football had a ton of recruits on campus yesterday as part of Junior Day. The most high profile of the group was five-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho, but the Gators also had Keenan Britt in town for the festivities.
The EDGE from Oxford, AL is committed to South Carolina and is the brother of former Auburn linebacker K.J. Britt but claims to Swamp247 that Florida still has a shot to land him.
Florida Football: All In The Family
Britt is a composite four-star, with Rivals and ESPN listed him in the top 300, while On3 and 247 have him as a three-star.
Based strictly on the film, he definitely is worthy of a four-star ranking. Britt lives in the backfield of opponents on Friday nights and is a one-man wrecking crew. He can get around a lineman or plow straight through him as needed, and when QBs try to run away, they have zero hope of doing so.
What 247 and On3 are probably going off of with their three-star ranking is that he is 6'2" and 230 pounds, which is undersized for an EDGE but is right on the nose if he were to play linebacker.
Britt got an offer from Florida last June but wound up committing to South Carolina last August. Britt also has offers from Ole Miss, Oregon, and Tennessee, but since his commitment to the Gamecocks, he has not had any new teams offer him.
Florida is hoping their strong finish to 2024 can provide a spark to their class of 2026. Right now, the Gators have three commitments to the class: QB Will Griffin, DB Jaelen Waters, and S Devin Jackson.
