The last big push for Florida Football before the NCAA dead period begins was this past weekend, as the Gators once again had a number of big-name prospects on campus in an attempt to jump-start their class of 2026.

One prospect on campus may not have the star rankings as some others, but still has a lot to like when watching his film.

Florida Football: Six Degrees Of Bacon

Tyson Bacon is a defensive lineman from Hoover, AL. Listed at 6'4" and 260 pounds, according to his Hudl, Bacon is a consensus three-star prospect, with On3 having him the closest to a four-star. On the 247 Composite, he is 540th in the country.

On film, though, there is a lot to like about Bacon as he has a solid feel for his role. Rather than just plow straight ahead and head straight for the QB every time, Bacon holds the edge well when needed, and when teams try to run a screen, he does a great job in sniffing those plays out.

Bacon plays inside and outside and has a great motor to pursue plays 10+ yards down the field.

The three-star rating is probably fair, as he doesn't quite have the same level of violent explosiveness as some high four-stars, but his all-around feel for the position and versatility still make him an asset to have in the SEC.

Bacon committed to Tennessee back in October, but Florida is working to try to pull off a flip. Auburn, Southern Cal, and Michigan have also recently offered Bacon.

He was in Gainesville this past weekend, and based on comments he made to 247, he indicated that the weekend went well.

Florida currently has three members signed to their class of 2026: QB Will Griffin, DB Jaelen Waters, and S Devin Jackson.
