During this recruiting cycle, Florida Football seems to be in the running for quite a few offensive linemen. The Gators have secured visits from a handful of prospects we have chronicled over the past couple of weeks.

Add one more to the list, as Florida will be getting an official visit from a giant guard out of South Carolina.

Florida Football: Mountain Man

Desmond Green is an interior offensive lineman out of Saint Stephen, SC. Listed at 6'5" and 350 pounds, Green is considered a four-star by Rivals and a three-star by On3, 247, and ESPN.

On film, his size stands out, but he also moves very well for someone of his size. Green is asked to be a pulling guard frequently, and there are no concerns about him being able to get to his spot for the block.

Of IOL rated in the top 50 overall by 247, Green, by far, has the most size to him of any of the top prospects.

With that in mind, the three-star rating is fair for now when compared to the film of other prospects, but Green should have a higher ceiling than some others because of his size.

Florida originally offered Green last February but hasn't had a ton of outward momentum since that offer. He took some unofficial visits to Clemson, FSU, and Tennessee, but he dropped his five official visits yesterday, and Florida will be getting a visit on June 13.

The other four schools he will take an official visit to are Virginia Tech, Georgia, Oklahoma, and South Carolina.

The On3 RPM has the Gamecocks as the early favorite, and given that Columbia is a two-hour drive from St Stephen, it would make sense that the Gators have work to do if they are going to pry Green away.
