Coaches for Florida Football are starting to spread all across the country as recruiting season for the class of 2026 is about to hit full throttle.

Defensive line coach Gerald Chatman is in Georgia and just extended an offer to one of the top-rated defensive tackles from the class of 2026.

Florida Football: Top Rankins Player

Earnest Rankins is a consensus four-star from Decatur, GA. Listed at 6'6" and 285 pounds, Rankins is as high as 57th in the On3 rankings and is 119th in the 247 Composite rankings.

The top 125 feels about right for now as Rankins is the second tallest DT in the country among four stars and, at 285, is the 10th biggest among four stars or better.

On film, Rankins has a solid first step, and when he does break through the line, he is a terrifying sight for opposing QBs to see. He doesn't necessarily shed enough blocks for us to definitively put him in the top 100, but he does have a willingness for some long pursuits, and when he does wrap up, it is evident of the power he possesses.

Rankins has a hefty list of offers that include Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, Michigan, LSU, Texas A&M, and Alabama.

Rankins took a trip to Auburn this past season, but we would have to imagine his recruitment process is about to really heat up as the rest of the SEC jockeys to land an official visit from Rankins this summer.

Florida's class of 2026 is still in the very early stages with three commits, headlined by QB Will Griffin.
