Florida Football Recruiting: Gators miss out on flipping five-star WR from Tampa
A month ago, Florida Football was dead in the water when it came to recruiting. The Gators were mired outside of the top 50 and seemingly had zero momentum with Early Signing Day approaching.
Fast forward a month, and Billy Napier and crew looked like they were going to pull off one of the biggest flips of the day, but in the end missed out on a potential headliner.
Florida Football: Flip Season
Dallas Wilson is sticking with his commitment to Oregon. The wide receiver out of Tampa had multiple predictions logged in his favor that he was going to flip from Oregon to Florida, but in the end he will be off to Eugene.
Wilson is a composite five-star, with 247 being the only major service to individually rank him as a five-star. On3, Rivals, and ESPN all have him as a four-star, but all have him in the top 40.
On film, Wilson is not a pure speedster, but that doesn't stop him from making play after play deep. He has a great awareness of how to find space to get open, and he is not afraid to get physical to make a play on the ball. He is shifty enough once the ball is in his hands to make it a nightmare for defenses to tackle.
Wlson has been a long time Oregon commit, but was in town last month as Florida was making their late season surge. Florida fans were hoping the allure of DJ Lagway, combined with a renewed emphasis on NIL spending, would help land either Wilson or Jamie Ffrench.
Ffrench has signed with Texas and now Wilson is off to Oregon. The Gators do still have Vernell Brown III to headline their class of 2025 and as of nw are ranked 11th in the 247 Team Rankings.
