The way things have been going the past couple of weeks, it almost feels automatic that anyone committed to FSU is someone that Florida Football has their eyes on. Billy Napier and crew have flipped two players from the Seminoles this week and are hoping for more.
This weekend, the Gators will be welcoming the only running back committed to FSU's class of 2025, with the hope of adding more depth to a stacked running back room.
Florida Football: Run the ball
Byron Louis is a running back listed at 5'11" and 205 pounds. On3, ESPN, and Rivals all have Louis listed as a four-star, while 247 has him as a three-star. This season he is averaging 8.4 yards per carry for American Heritage and had 19 carries for 141 yards in a victory over St. Thomas Aquinas.
On film, Louis is a no-nonsense runner who doesn't waste a lot of movement before getting to the hole. He is tough to bring down even when greeted with linebackers in the hole, and while his track times don't paint a picture of "elite" speed (non-wind aided PR of 11.32 seconds in the 100-meter dash), he does pull away from defenders.
His running style feels a lot like Jadan Baugh's style, and his composite rating in the top 250 feels fair.
Louis has been committed to FSU since September but, like a lot of FSU commits, has been looking around, given how poor the season has gone for the Seminoles.
It's with that backdrop that Louis is going to make a visit to Florida this weekend with hopes of pulling off another flip of an FSU commit. Florida does have running back Waltez Clark committed as well as three-star back Chad Gasper, but as we have seen in 2024 one can never have too much depth at running back.
