Florida Football Recruiting: Ayden Pouncey is a triple threat stud

Pouncey is listed as a defensive back in recruiting, but can dominate all three phases of the game

Florida Football is coming off a big recruiting weekend where a score of 2026 prospects made their way to Gainesville as Billy Napier and crew hope their momentum from the end of the season carries over into recruiting this year.

The Gators are set to have another string of prospects come to town, and one in particular has a long family lineage with the program.

Florida Football: Do It All

Ayden Pouncey is listed as a safety from Winter Park. All four major services have the 6'2" prospect as a four-star, with 247 having him the highest at 130.

Pouncey is the brother of former Gators Ethan and Jordan Pouncey and is cousins with Florida legends Maurkice and Mike.

On film, one could justify Pouncey rising into the top 100. Even though his track times in 2024 weren't elite (11.05 seconds in the 100-meter dash), Pouncey explodes off the line by his second step. Whether he is being used as a receiver, a defensive back, or a punt returner, there is a certain pop Pouncey has that not every prospect around his ranking has.

He is slippery in space and not afraid to deliver a big hit if needed.

The only thing that seems to be holding him out of the top 100 would be the track time, as well as the fact he is listed at 165 pounds.

Florida offered Pouncey last September but hasn't had a ton of outward momentum to this point. Miami and Georgia are the two main teams that keep getting mentioned.

But Pouncey tweeted out today that he plans to be in The Swamp this weekend for an unofficial visit. From there, we shall see if Florida can sustain momentum, but he is the type of prospect who has a ton of upside potential, even with his top 150 composite ranking.
