It is almost impossible to dislike Florida Football QB DJ Lagway. Beyond his play on the field, Lagway has continued to be all-in on causes with the Gators, and he has done nothing but bleed orange and blue since arriving in Gainesville.
So in an era where players around the country are getting more in NIL money than most people will make in a lifetime, Lagway has opted to give back to the Gators women's sports as part of International Women's Day.
Florida Football: That's My DJ
In a social media post, Lagway highlighted Florida's volleyball, gymnastics, basketball, and softball programs. At the end of the video, he announced he would be making a donation to Florida Victorious towards these programs:
"Hard work is the lifeblood of everything we do. Every home run, every spike. So many hours of unseen hard work. But I see it, I see the 25 SEC championships. I see it in the perfect 10. I can hear the hours of dedication in every pitch. I see the precision in every 3-pointer. I am truly inspired by these women, their passion pushes me to go harder every single day."
In honor of International Womenβs Day, here is my gift to these incredible women student-athletes who have inspired me!

Based on a report from On3, this donation is somewhere in the six figures, although official details were not announced regarding the total number and how much each team will officially get.
Lagway has plenty of NIL deals of his own, including Gatorade and Nintendo, and so it is charitable of him to spend the love on other sports on campus who have all had plenty of success of their own.
Lagway has been in the headlines a bunch this weekend with spring camp starting. He is being limited this spring due to concerns over his hamstring and his shoulder.
Last year, the Gators did not lose a game that Lagway had started and finished. He was a freshman All-American who threw for 1,915 yards, 12 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. Lagway started against Samford and then became the full-time starter after Graham Mertz went down against Tennessee, then injured his hamstring against Georgia before returning against LSU to lead the Gators to a four-game winning streak to end the 2024 campaign.
