Tim Tebow didn't have the professional career he hoped for after leaving Florida Football. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos, had a memorable run with Tebowmania, but didn't stick in the NFL and has been spending his days as an analyst for the SEC Network.
But with Denver's loss yesterday in the playoffs, Tebow can still lay claim to something no one else in Devner history can.
Florida Football: Tebowmania
The Broncos have been around since 1960. They have won three Super Bowls and have been AFC champions eight times.
But despite the success, only once have the Broncos won a playoff game where the starting QB was someone the franchise originally drafted.
Tebow's iconic walk-off touchdown to Demaryius Thomas in 2012 capped off a wild run of Tebowmania and made Tebow the first and only QB to be drafted by Denver and win a playoff game with the franchise.
If it sounds crazy, Denver won their first playoff game in 1977 with Craig Morton as QB, but he was drafted by Dallas.
In 1986, 1987, 1989, 1991, 1997, and 1998, Denver won playoff games with John Elway at the helm. But he wasn't actually drafted by Denver; he was drafted by the Baltimore Colts and then traded to Denver.
In 2005, Denver was led by Jake Plummer, originally drafted by Arizona.
And, of course, in 2013 and 2015, the Broncos made it to the Super Bowl with Peyton Manning, but he was drafted by the Colts.
This year was the first time Denver had been back to playoffs since winning the Super Bowl in the 2015 season, and Bo Nix had a chance to join Tebow as a QB the Broncos had drafted to win a game in the playoffs, but Denver lost to the Buffalo Bills 31-7.
