Florida fans warned Georgia about Mike White and Bulldog fans are finally seeing it

Georgia is getting the full Mike White Experience

Life is good for Florida fans right now. The Gators are a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and just won their first SEC regular-season title since 2014. The Gators are also the defending national champions and are seeking to become just the third team since 1993 to repeat as national champions.

Georgia fans, meanwhile, are forced to accept that getting a No. 8 seed and getting blown out in the first round in the NCAA Tournament is about as good as it will ever get for the Bulldogs as long as Mike White is their coach.

If only they had listened to the warnings four years ago.

Florida fans can’t help but smile as Georgia gets blown out

Georgia got blown out by Saint Louis 102-77 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Mind you, Georgia was a 2.5-point favorite coming into the game. It is the second straight season Georgia has been blown out by 20+ points in the opening round of the tournament.

Florida fans everywhere are texting their Georgia friends saying, “See, we told you so.”

When White left Gainesville after seven seasons to set up shop in Athens, the national narrative was that Georgia had pulled a fast one over Florida. Gator fans were labeled toxic for daring to dream that Florida Basketball could be one of the elites in the sport and were told they should be grateful for getting to watch a team that could lose in the 2nd round of March Madness if everything went right.

Four years later, Georgia fans are already growing tired of the Mike White Experience.

White is not a bad person, and he is not a “bad” coach, but it is clear he has limitations. In his 11 seasons between Florida and Georgia, he has made it out of the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament one time.

Had White stayed at Florida, there is minimal reason to believe Georgia’s past two years wouldn’t have just been Florida’s past two years.

And so we will just ask a simple question, which is more fun:

Winning a national title or getting blown out in the first round of the NCAA Tournament two straight seasons?

Georgia fans can’t say Florida fans didn’t warn them.
