Florida fans are losing their minds after the Gators win their first title since 2007

The Florida Gators are National Champions! That is right, you can read that again Florida fans.

National. Champions.

For the first time since going back-to-back in 2006 and 2007, Gator basketball has reached the mountaintop yet again to bring home a National Championship trophy back to Gainesville. The Gators came back from a 12-point deficit to take down the Houston Cougars 65-63 and see orange and blue confetti fall to the floor.

Even though Houston was able to stifle star guard Walter Clayton Jr. for most of the game, other players stepped up until Clayton came alive in the final minutes of the game. Even though Clayton only finished with 11 points, his lowest of the tournament. those 11 points all came in the second half, most of them in the final minutes to lead the comeback.

Florida fans, both young and old, are remembering what it feels to be champions and showing their excitement for the team on social media.

Students were lined up since last night to get into the O'Connell before the game, and the basketball arena was packed to the max with fans watching the National Championship. This was the biggest game of the season, and fans were not going to miss it Certainly, the turnout proves that.

The Gators had found ways to come back all through the NCAA Tournament, especially in the big games, and tonight was no different. Tonight, they had to come back from 12 points down, this time to in it all and bring home the hardware.
